Reflection after the party

The expressions on the faces of those attending the televised July 4th celebration in Washington, D.C., served as a reminder that our Creator is ultimately the source of every blessing that makes such celebrations possible.

Many have pondered the nature of evil and the forces opposing God’s teachings. God provided humanity with fundamental guidance through the holy Bible based on his Ten Commandments. Those commandments were later reinforced by his son, Jesus Christ. Jesus’s sacrifice offers salvation to those who believe in the Holy Trinity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These teachings were further clarified during the Reformation with the articulation of the Five Solas, which outlines the path to salvation.

The path to salvation can only be walked by an individual who follows our Savior’s personal abundantly clear instructions found in John 12:44–50. No one can walk this path for another human.

Jesus came and died for you to help you get saved. He did not come to keep score on your good deeds; he knows that if you follow God’s teachings, he will keep you on that path and will mediate on your behalf to the Father to let you into heaven.

Jesus responded when ask what is Gods greatest commandment?

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Conversely, Satan the personification of all evil doesn’t care about your “good deeds” either. He doesn’t care if you volunteer at the food bank, recycle, help the elderly cross the street, or are generally kind, generous, and well-liked. His only interest in you is to keep you away from Jesus.

That’s the deception that’s destroying millions: Satan has convinced people that morality and spirituality are the same. He has convinced them that being a “good person” is the same as being a Christian. He has convinced them that if they just live right, treat people well, and avoid the “big sins,” and occasionally go to church is acceptable to God. This is a lie straight from the depths of hell.

Jesus came to save and perfect you if you will accept him as your savior.  Amen.
